Rental terms & agreement

These terms apply to every equipment rental from Stackhouse Totes. Questions? Email hello@stackhousetotes.com or call 412-735-0273.

1. Rental period

Every package is a fourteen (14) day rental beginning on the delivery date. Need longer? Tell us before your scheduled pickup and we will extend at the weekly rate for your package — $45 studio, $55 one-bedroom, $65 two-bedroom, $75 three-bedroom.

Extensions requested after the pickup date are charged the late-return rate instead: $15 per day, billed automatically to the card on file until the equipment is recovered.

2. Delivery and pickup

Delivery and pickup are scheduled in two-hour windows. An adult must be present, or the customer must provide written authorization for unattended drop-off at their own risk.

Delivery and pickup are included at no charge in Zone 1. Zone 2 carries a flat $29 fee. Zone 3 is quote-only and subject to a $250 minimum. Zones are defined on our service area page.

Equipment must be stacked and accessible at ground level at the agreed pickup location. A failed pickup attempt — nobody home or totes not ready — is billed at $45 for the return trip.

Delivery is door-to-door. We drop at the nearest accessible point — typically your driveway, garage, or unit door — and we do not carry items inside the residence. If your delivery or pickup requires carrying totes up or down stairs and you would like our help, we reserve the right to charge $15 per flight, each way. Carry them yourself and there is no charge. Let us know at booking so we can plan the drop.

Delivery goes to the departure address and pickup comes from the destination address. Both are required at booking, and the delivery fee follows whichever address falls in the higher zone.

3. Payment

A valid credit or debit card is required at booking and remains on file for the duration of the rental. Rental charges are collected at booking; add-ons, extensions, and damage or loss charges are billed to the same card.

4. Care, damage, and loss

Equipment remains the property of Stackhouse Totes at all times and may not be sublet, sold, or transferred.

Normal wear from moving is expected and never charged. Totes that are lost, stolen, or damaged beyond normal use are billed at $25 each including the lid. Tote Taxis are $75 each. We require a card on file at booking and will notify you before charging anything.

Normal wear is expected and not charged. Totes returned with hazardous residue, paint, oil, biological waste, or persistent odor may incur a cleaning fee of up to $25 per tote.

5. Prohibited use

Equipment may not be used to transport hazardous, flammable, corrosive, perishable, or illegal materials, live animals, or anything that would render the equipment unsafe or unsanitary for reuse.

Totes have a recommended maximum load of 50 pounds each. Overloading may cause failure and is the customer's responsibility.

6. Cancellation and rescheduling

Cancellations more than 48 hours before the scheduled delivery are free. Cancellations within 48 hours are charged $50. Cancellations after delivery are subject to a $99 restocking fee, and the rental charge is not refunded.

Rescheduling is free with at least 48 hours' notice, subject to availability.

7. Liability

Stackhouse Totes is not responsible for damage to or loss of the customer's belongings, including items packed in, on, or around the equipment. Customers are responsible for packing appropriately and for insuring their own property.

Our total liability under any rental is limited to the amount paid for that rental.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The terms in effect on your booking date govern that rental.
